The ZAM-6G Bag Bitumen Melting Equipment is a high-performance melting solution specifically developed by ZOOMLINE for ton-bag packaged asphalt. The unit employs indirect heating via thermal oil or heat pipes to safely and efficiently convert solid asphalt into liquid form, making it suitable for processing ton-bag asphalt of various penetration grades. The core process involves cutting open the outer layer at the bottom of the ton-bag, placing the asphalt on a heated grate for melting, directing the molten asphalt into a bottom storage tank for temporary holding, and finally pumping it into an asphalt tank. The equipment features a modular design and a closed-loop production system to conserve energy and minimize pollution. It is equipped with an automatic control system and an international-brand burner to ensure precise temperature monitoring. The ZAM-6G model has a melting capacity of 6–8 t/h, an asphalt storage volume of approximately 17 m³, a thermal oil furnace power of 800,000 kcal/h, and an asphalt discharge temperature controlled between 120–140°C, with a total power of 37 kW, fully meeting the asphalt processing needs of medium to large-scale operations.
Asphalt melting is the process of heating solid asphalt to 100–200°C to convert it into a liquid state. This process takes place in specialized equipment (asphalt melting units) using thermal oil or heat pipes for heating. Solid asphalt from drums or ton bags is melted on the coils, and the melted asphalt flows into the bottom storage tank for temporary storage.

The ton-bag asphalt packaging process utilizes the asphalt’s viscoelasticity to solidify it, after which it is loaded into specially designed ton-bags to make it suitable for transport. The inner layer of the bag consists of a meltable polyethylene plastic film. After filling with asphalt, the asphalt solidifies inside the ton-bag and is then transported to the site of use by forklift. To melt the asphalt, the outer layer of the ton-bag is cut open at the bottom, and the asphalt is placed in a high-performance furnace for melting. All these operations are performed within the ton-bag asphalt melting unit. Once the asphalt reaches the required temperature, it is pumped into an asphalt tank.
